mk2 heater blower speed

Am down to only '3' as blower speed have replaced switch ( fan can be noisy ) anything else to try before changing fan ?

Sounds like the fan speed resistor is knackered. Remove your scuttle cover and you should be able to see it.

(Can't remember how you change/fix it though - been so long since I did it. :blush:)

Thanks, had a spare from last car, however destroyed it foolishly trying to remove the loom ! see seller has 1 more on ebay but expect an unused one would have longer life main dealer in Rutherglen tells me they dont exist as do vwheritage - anyone know better - as it looks fiddly to fit including loom and probably not good idea to cut and clip ?

Last time I did that someone pointed me at wvheritage with a part nr , theres a s/h one on ebay at the mo but seller was more expensive for s/h switch than vwheritage were for new !
