throttel cable

Have had a few old vw in the past and neverhad this problem, my gt2 's throttel cable is stiff as ****, could this be the cable or wrong return spring on the carb, the routng seems fine,

Sounds as if the throttle cable is being pinched somewhere along its length.
It should run really freely.

A new cable is pretty cheap, about £12 from GSF. Worth taking a look at the bush on the pedal, these perish over time, about a fiver from the dealers.

thanks guys , all sorted now .. was cable tied to a load of stuff. freed up and good old WD 40 :yup:
