My Mk2 Scirocco GTII

Post by smallan »

Hi guys, im new to the scirocco scene but not tot the vdub scene. Ive had my Mk2 for a few months now and have been putting money into it all the time and im sure that won't stop any time soon.

Finally got it running nicely and wasnt having any problems until i drove her to chesterfield to pick up some coilover from Gilb666. I questioned him about the Gear change problem and he told me to buy a gear linkage repair kit as that solved his problem. Gunna get the sorted next week when i'm back at work.

Other than that i love it and now its got the coilovers on I love it even more.

Just a few pics on Photobucket http://photobucket.com/mk2rocco92

Glad you like it guys. Im sure there will be more to come from it as i cant stop spending money on it.

Marcus...
You know the gearbox problem i was on about and couldnt select 1st , well it wasnt the bushes. It was in fact that after id fitted a new cluth about a month ago, somehow the bolts for the pressure plate had worked there way loose and were pressing up agaist the release plate.

Fitted new bushes anyway and 2 new rods and now i can change gear like slicing butter with a hot knife.

cheers again guys, once i give it a good clean and get a nice sunny day i'll get the camera out. :chortle:

Hey guys, I know it's been a while and just wanted to update what I'm currently doing with my scirocco. Two things really. Firstly I've got my first feature for the car. I'm currently doing my apprenticeship with Honda and they've asked if I wanted to put my car in their news letter so I spent 3 hours at the weekend cleaning her ready for her photograph to be taken. I'll keep you updated on that.

Secondly she's getting a new engine!!! I'm going to be replacing it with a DX out of a Gtx which was set up for the drag stop and is paid up with a low ratio gearbox. Apparently I'm told its rather quick. I'm getting the whole car so I can't take everything that I need to convert it. Going to be taking engine and gearbox obviously along with fuel tank, fuel lines, radiator, all intake and exhaust parts, washer bottle parts as it's on the other side on the Gtx and not sure what else. Hoping you guys will know what needs to be swapped. Pics will be taken so will update with the progress.

See you again soon with an update. :yup:

Don't forget the wiring loom.

Don't be surprised if the fuel lines on the GTX are a bit shoddy.

Of course the wiring too plus the ECU.

I'll check them first then. If not I'll just replace them.

Cheers
