Recently after a heafty journey my mk2 gt2 decided that the vacuum central locking didn't want to work anymore, so i was just wonering what would be the logical place to start on this one as i have little experience of this sort of central locking unit.
cheers in advance
Tom

Has the pump stopped pumping? Has all of the locks stopped working automatically? ...can you hear suction anywhere?

check for power to the pump before replacing it. if you don't have access to a multimeter, just use a lightbulb with one side connected to earth. when you find power, it will light up. once you've found the one that makes it light up, keep that connected and try using the other side of the bulb to find the earth. earth wires are normally brown or brown/white. if there isn't any power there while trying to lock/unlock then it isn't going to be the pump!
