Re: Project RED GTX
Many thanks Bill !!
Up until now, you 've not seen any shots of the drivers side. The reason was that it has been resprayed (before i had it) and it was horribly orange peeled, so until i was happy with it, i kept it out of sight !! Anyway, after 3 hours of wet sanding with 1200 grade paper, T cutting and polishing, things have greatly improved..

Im well pleased with the result of all that elbow grease, theres a couple of patches i may do again, but i may just be being over fussy. The roof still needs to be done and i want to do the bonnet again too. The alloys will also get a proper clean up too, then its down to cracking on with the interior clean up. I also want to get a new set of number plates made up.
While it was outside posing for the pics, a bloke in a BMW M3 pulled up and asked if it was for sale, i declined, but he insisted i have his mobile number in case i change my mind. Pretty sure i wont though !!!!
Thats it for this week now, as its back to work tonight.

Re: Project RED GTX
Just a small update today, fitted the new number plates and refitted the cleaned up rear badges.

Took the eyebrow spoiler off, rubbed it down, primered it and painted it Tornado red. Il Tcut it tomorrow after its dried overnight.

A bit more Tcutting and polishing on the roof too. More tomorrow.

Re: Project RED GTX
Got a few more bits done today, new dizzy cap, new rotor arm and a set of Magnacore HT leads, the engines running sweet now
Tcut the freshly painted eyebrow spoiler and fitted it.

I may swap the GTX grill for a plain black one, as i think the single red stripe looks a bit odd. I fitted a new rear wiper blade and gave the car a good test run, it runs great and the brakes are real good.
Still more to do, but due to other commitments, i cant do anymore for the next week or so. Time permitting, im hoping to get it in for its MOT the week after next.

I am going to go for the black badges Alex, i did it on FECKO and it looks clean. I normally just Tcut them instead of painting them, it fetches the silver off and leaves them nice, and glossy smooth !

Re: Project RED GTX
Or you could go for red inserts? I always liked the look of colour coded personally.
Either way she looks great. Midlands meet to celebrate?
