all sitting in my shed at the mo, recon i could use it all??
i know about the column for a hydro cluch later but i was hoping to use the heater to fix the problem with the ducting,
and i dint realize you have to cut that much down!!!

and what did you do about the center console? i'm ganna try use the entire lot fr?om the raddo :P
Try and use as much of the donor cars parts as you can - it makes it easier in the long run! As for the centre console i just cut down the scirocco's original one, didnt have a black lower console from a 'raddo or i would of looked into using it
Chaps wrote:I like the orange.. looks smart! are you going to do the bonnet black as well or just the roof & tailgate?
I really cant decide! Quickly knocked a pic up on automodder to have a look

Ignore the black on the front of the kamei kit - the website adds it for some reason! May do it in orange and if it would look better black ive got the option or doing it again (have a good 5l of 2k black  )

Been busy since the last update! Going to the national meet gave me some motivation to get a move on and sort the car out

Started by getting the roof/tailgate and sunroof done

ImageImageImageImage

Then the inside of the boot - had a water leek in there and it took ages to dry out and then prep :ire:

Image

Looks loads better now tho!
When that dried i removed the battery and rehomed it nicely in the boot - wanted to do this for years but never actually got round to it!

Image

Sits just nicely under the strut brace

Did manage to get the bonnet done too, forgot to take any piccies of it apart from when it was done and back on the car

While i was on a roll it was time to get the door slams done - this was the one thing i had been putting off!

Started by stripping the doors down while they were still on the car, thought it would of been more awkward than it actually was. Removing them was then pretty easy to do on my own - had to borrow a friend to give me a hand putting them back on the car tho :chortle:

Still to replace the old screws in the doors for black ones but they are pretty much done! Will be rubbing the outer skin of the doors down along with the roof again tho and then spraying them together with the whole car to make sure the colour matches on every panel

Just a bit more work to do on one of the rear arches then it will be ready for its final coats of paint - looking forward to seeing it all in one colour again

I do like the orange but after giving it some thought decided on the black. Its actually a matt finish but looks more satin! Think its better than having it gloss - had a game with orange peel with the glossy purple and was never happy with the finish with it; the black being matt is easier to spray and there is no sign of any peel

Cheers Jake, it does looks pretty good
Moved the window switches back out of the door cards and into the lower console - finishes it off nicely and means i can keep the original one and not have to figure out how to fit a corrado one!

Cheers guys, i do agree and really like the look! Glad i went with the black now

Spent this morning putting some of the finishing touches on the car, got the sunroof fitted but im still to order a new seal for it - also re-greased the runners and the motor is finding it much easier to open it now!

Got new door plastics fitted (god knows what the proper name for them is!)

Image

Then refitted the door cards and got the dash all back together - had to remove the corrado cluster as one of the earths had gone bad, took ages to find and solve :ire:

Image

Looks good!

Finally i could give the car its new badges, along with new rear quarter window seals - cheers Mark!

Looks good :vcool:

Nearly there now, just wants new tyres all round and the front screen changing before i can get it mot'd. Now waiting on new reg plate holders and the 3rd amp to be delivered then i can set the new stereo up properly!
