Time for a update.
Finally pulled it out of storage, took a while to find a good genuine tank suitable for a refurb( thanks Winston )
Time to finally sort out the running problems and replace the fuel tank (corroded on the inside) and flexi lines (gone hard and perishing due to age)
Tank and rear beam removed
Old tank and freshly powder coated second hand tank .
Replacement tank with all foam tapes and pads replicated from the original tank
Cleaned and waxed the arches while the suspension and filler neck were removed,
No rust on the beam mounts

Tank fitted with powdercoated tank straps

More updates this week.

So while the beam was dropped I had it powdercoated and the drum backing plates, everything else was just cleaned and refitted.
I also had the fuel filler neck powdercoated, it had a small amount of surface rust and the factory coating was inadequate for under the wheel arch.

Also fitted a new exhaust backbox as the baffles had gone in the old one.

All finished.
All the rubber fuel lines replaced in the engine bay, newly powder coated cam cover and cambelt cover
All back together and returned to storage until next year.
