Lol, it's only just clicked that you have the same thread on DW. So I'll just say it again - great work!

That explains it.
I did look at my inner CV joint today and you was asking if anyone had a clip holding the boot on, I don't have a clip at the end of my inner CV joint boot. They are are oringinal ones fitted by VW.

I noticed that you have fitted the metal clip on the end of the steering rack gater, on the track rod, now did you fit them?
I have fitted new gaters and have new clips, I can't seem to get them on, I've tried long nose pliers and they just keep flying off when I open up the clip... :ire:

Just some grips I think they go on about 8mm onto the gaiter not in the little groove which is about 3mm in...

Ill have to keep looking at this for inspiration to do things properly when I'm feeling lazy.

With the Zinc plating did you consider doing it yourself, ive been looking at the DIY kits that are about £100.

How did you get the alternator so clean.

Sorry for all the questions.

I did look into kits, but i did 4 batches of £20 a go, and its right everytime. Plus helps out local business's.

The alternator was stripped down, new bearing, painted with Eastwood Aluminium Paint, and the centre bit was painted with Red Zinc Primer.

Hat's off to you James. Incredible work and attention to detail. Only really just discovered your build thread but I'll keep checking it out.

How you keep up the enthusiasm I don't know. Currently I'm in half a mind to give up and just break the car but I'm really trying not to.

Costing a lot more than I was hoping and not even half the job you are doing.

Thanks for sharing your work. :vcool:
