this was me trying to get the stupid trailer around the obstacles while busy guiding my buddy hein who was behind the wheel was very tempted to dump the trailer and maybe fetch on way back, but note the front bumper went a bit overboard 5mm thick tubing, lol

some pics so long , will pick up tommorow afternoon , just debating what to do with hood liner , tempted to go leather as well as the seats came out so well , the emblem we were not sure until they did a sample , and heck it looks good they got it spot on ,
the hides prices i was wrong they are R1250-00 each ( basically 60 pounds a piece )

after picking up the seats the wife said rather go full leather , headliner and all as long as i have the seat inserts done the same in grey for my daughters audi , so be it permission granted ( R8000-00 for the whole trip - around 370 pounds )

seats looking smart , the guy that did them said its a pity it will cost too much to send seats over and then back again as he would love to do more , so he is now getting my 1/2 ton ldv seat and the hyundai h100 ldv interior to do after the v8 transplant is finished.

Image

have ordered driver side chassis leg from vw , the previous guys butchered the poor thing for a 20v conversion , i will still go the 8v 2l apk motor re: jetta mk4 ( same block as the 20v ) but will use the epetech kit , so will put back to standard .

Image

the fire wall needs cutting out where the thing was bodged for the clutch cable and fit the newer citigolf kit ( sa version )

Image

ordered battery tray from vw heritage but mistakingly put my sisters place in london as delivery address , so migh order another and get sent directly , or will check at agents this side so i can button up the engine bay and start to spray it out

Image

h100 almost done just waiting for cab back from painters then the rocco can go visit them for new coat

what it looked like before i blew the diesel motor up

this scirocco is going to be everything i wanted to do to my mk1 , but alas did not have the bucks ( single and having a ball ) , now i can do it and enjoy with the family , my daughter has already instructed me to pick her up from school in it so the guys can have a look , prob only 10 - 15 mk2's in south africa , a friend has 2 - 1 is a track racer ( with all the groceries ) not on the road , the other is for show in his workshop never drives the thing as he has a lexus lfa

the sprayers are damn good when i had my first mk1 a truck hit my drivers door and rear quarter panel , he removed the door skin , got the window out without breaking it ( luckily it was in the up position ) , and fixed everything and totally painted from front to back for around 300 pounds

thx chris , the seats in your money are not expensive - around 213 pounds , but getting them to and fro from south africa could be ,
going to cost around another 160 pounds and the guy is doing the centre console / dashboard / hoodliner / rear trunk sides / b pillars.

will pm you if stuck that side , its just the crating up that i am battling with as i cant expect my sis to sort that out as its nowhere near her game, she will let me know tomorrow as i think my package i sent has arrived. just a battle to drop at her place during the week as she is at work.

got a spare set of seats , will check and see what the cost comes to to do the leather but in a kit ( lot cheaper than sending the whole set of seats over ) and just send that over and can be fitted that side,
who knows might be dirt cheap , and my guy would love the work
