Cheers gentlemen. :hi:

Rich, i got the plates from a company in Sligo, Ireland. Apparently, English number plate rules dont apply there, so they are allowed to manufacture plates pretty much to customer needs.

Don't ask me....it was like that when i got here !

looks great anyway Mark

Does look very nice, and I like the mesh grille too. I think the narrower font used today is to take the extra character in the post 2001plates into account - the full width font should still be available (and completely legal) for suffix and prefix plates.

Definately illegal on the road, some guy on last nights "Traffic Cops" got a £60 ticket for having a black plate on his car.

Yeah, you're right, the black plates are only legal for Pre Jan 1st 1973, but the wider font is legal for after that AFAIK...

I didnt really get chance to update this thread after i got it back from the painter due to getting the car ready for the national meet. So heres the newly painted bonnet and roof, it looks a million time s better !!

For anyone who didnt make the national meet, heres the car with its bonnet bra ( gotta protect that new paint !!) and show plates.
Image
So this week, i got on with cleaning under the bonnet as it was thick with dust from the paintshop, it looks a bit more presentable now for Tatton Park on sunday.

Fitted the proper GTX wiper arm with spoiler.

I also got around to fitting some front mudflaps i've had for months.
