Hi
Having a problem with my 1986 1.6GT.
Am currently restoring this and have fitted new filler neck, new tank.
Have replaced the all pipe work both steel and rubber,
Fitted a new mechanical fuel pump (Meyle) vapour trap(Also Meyle) and weber carburettor.
The issue I am having and this was happening with the original parts and Pierburg is that car drives ok
for about a mile and then dies with what looks to be fuel starvation.
I removed the the fuel vapour trap and ran the feed from the pump directly into the carb leaving the return open
Car now runs fine with no issues
Has anyone seen this before
Do I need the vapour trap? Also I have the in line filter before the pump.
Have an electric pump would this be a better option
Thanks
David

Re: 1.6 Stopping when driving.
Read through the power loss posts and I think restricting the return should do the trick
Will post how I get on
