Post by Scirobbo »

Hi everyone! Really cannot decide if i should put the fog lights back on 'MONO' my Scirocco. Here's a pic of the car without.

I'd leave them off. if your car was otherwise totally standard i'd advise you to keep them fitted, but it isn't and looks nice and clean.

the fog lights are pretty pointless anyway, they have the illuminatory power of a birthday candle.

On an unrelated note, your username is quite witty.

Thanks for the feedback. Ive always thought the foglights look like a bit of an afterthought. Glad you liked the name :D

have to agree, no fogs look a lot better.

the fogs, as you say, really do look like an afterthought.

Always removed mine, as the Rev said they're largely pointless and they really spoil the looks

Looks a nice clean example defo looks better without the fogs! I'd be tempted to keep amber indicators rather than swop to whites , are your rear lights the white tinted ones?

Thanks! I've spent a lot of dough on it now, respray in original Alpine white being one of the things thats cost me! It looked like a Zebra when I bought it. Unloved and uncool. I bought some smoked lights for it.

This is the car when I bought it.

Remember it in original paint scheme well! I think you've improved it somewhat...

*Shudder*

Yes I soon changed that! I was the only bidder on eBay when it was for sale. I couldn't quite actually believe what I'd bought at the time. Especially when it was dropping fuel all over the floor in the petrol station. Good job I only had 100 mile trip home. Luckily the heater worked well so I pressed on! ;)

Absolutely stunning now. I remember it in its former life, got my hands dirty doing a few jobs for the previous owner at the Durham Dubs show 2010.
A credit to you mate.

Thanks guys! Always nice to get praise on a car that you've worked hard on. It gets better with time that's for sure. It turned out to be a good little motor in the end. I'll have to take it to the next meet, although its still far from perfect. I need to get it alarmed too. Not sure which system to go for yet. Thinking of a Sigma system as that was what my last Alfa Romeo was protected by. Any ideas? :)
