I would quite happily use my garage building skills for others yes, but - you may never have a finished garage lol. I unfortunately start something, and it drags on for months... :hehe:

Roofing materials are hopefully getting delivered today ready for the next dry day!

Its true.... my best mate calls me half a job jimmy!! this one is getting finished though - before winter sets in as well!!

Electric supply has been sourced. Have a mate who is an electrician and i rang him asking what i should use for it, He recommended 4-6mm armourd due to the length of run and maybe wanting to run a welder/grinder/heater/beer fridge/tv/stereo/toasty maker etc etc..... 2.5mm is ok for just sockets and stuff, but if put anything exciting on it will pop the breaker. He happenes to have half a reel of 4mm Armoured Cable left over from this job he did, and said I can have it for lending him a hand a while back.

I need to get a circuit breaker box, some 2.5mm T&E for the sockets and a light but its saved me well over 100quid as normally you have to buy a 50m roll. Well happy!

Remaining wood for the garage gets delivered tomorrow afternoon, by the end of the weekend I am hoping to have a nearly clad and roof'd garage!
I am hoping it should go together quite quickly from here on out..

Yeah man it air powered. Quality little tool. Fires up to 50mm nails so perfect for paneling and lighter joinery jobs. The Mrs has been helping and is well impressed with it. We got most of the back wall done so its defo worth having one if you have a big job like this.

Nearly there now, spent fri, sat and sunday on the garage as it was really nice weather, we got loads done.

Roofing went on without too much trouble, longest time was spent setting it all up, then trimming the rafters and nailing on batten ready for the onduline sheets. Once we had worked out the best way to set it out it it was quite easy to nail in place. Batten was spaced at 600mm centres so the sheet had 4 supporting each one. each sheet took 36 nails, prob abit overkill but i ordered loads so thought more was better than less.

Saturday ended like this, with the LHS roof finished.

Sunshine..... Makes such a difference!!!

Sat night i went out and had far too many beers to celebrate progress, so sunday was a little more relaxed but i managed the rest of the roof. Under ordered on sheeting by 4 so had to stop, and i saved doing the ridge until its all fixed but it should only take a few hours to complete once they arrive.

Pic from sunday evening.

Today there wasnt much work on so took the afternoon off to finish the walls.. 4hrs later both sides were done. I still need to cut the cladding back but i thought it was easier to fly it past then cut it all off in one go once it was finished. I will put my work bench along the side where the windows are i think.

Like with everything I do, it take a little time to get an update going on. But fear not my friends progress has been made with the garage! We have doors and windows in now!!

I have run all my electric in for the garage now, and half finished the ply lining on the interior walls too… still got to put sockets / lights / switches on and wire into the circuit board but thats a job for another day. I need to finish the interior walls first connect the electrics and then I will get the floor painted, make some shelving and good work bench.

Its not quite finished but we are getting there slowly!
