We know how Northwest Mk1's roll......... at least yours still rolls :hehe:

No progress really and no plans to touch it until I finish putting the turbo engine in my Mk1 Golf ready for Edition38.

Ive managed to source these Gotti mag centred splits which leave me with 2" dishes and 4" barrels for my Mad'ins. It gives me the option of staggered 8's or 9's alround. Think im going for 9's! You can also see the NOS(ish) chrome bumpers in the back ground that I got from Mr brown (thanks again!!) They haven't come up to bad with a few hours and some autosol.

I was hoping for 175bhp but im having spark related problems. I might just throw in the towel and break it for spares, buy a cheap VW TDi and put the rest of the money back into the Scirocco.

The longer the project takes the more it changes direction. I found these RS's on edition38 they are my dream bbs. I would never find a set in this spec ever again.

RS224 6.5x15 ET45 redrilled to 4x100 with 2" dishes on the rears making them 8".

Im so happy to be getting stuck in on it again!

Ive spent the past 2 nights in the engine bay, this is the aftermath.

Ive removed the raintray and the scirocco brake bar strengtening plate (that was a pain to remove). I used a mixture of grinder, power file, heat gun and chizzels.

Before

After

On removing the sounddeadening in the raintray I found some nasty rot but I have managed to source a solid rain try section thanks to register member. :buddy: There was also quite alot rust behind the strengthing plate be warned restorationers.

Plenty of goodies in the pipe line. I swapped these with my mate last night for the splits from the Golf above. new trumpets and a stealth throttle linkage is the plan.

Very nice.

Good updates.

It's going to be super with those RS.

So you are planning to use 6.5x15 front and 8x15 at rear??
Which offset's???Front and rear??

I'm planning to use my Compomotive's TS on 7.5x16 front and 8 or 8.5x16 on th rear.
With offset's in about 20+.

With negative camber.

Looking forward to seeing this car completed.

Thank you!

Im going to knock the fronts down to 5.5" so it will still get some steering lock that low. The rears will be 8" with an offset of around ET26. im hoping the very edge of the dish will poke and the tyre will tuck.

Have you got the bumpers yet? they have been in paris since the 18th. I will chase it up if not.

Stil haven't received the bumpers and yes thay are in Paris since 18th.

About the wheels 5.5x15 in front is going to be very narrow, will you be able to get any traction??

I was thinking in doing that dish poke an tyre tuck in with 8.5" let's see if i manage that with some negative camber.

At front will i be able to lock the steering with 7.5x16 and ultra low??

I will chase the bumpers up now. we are not having much luck are we! :dash:

What coilovers are you planing on using? You should be ok lock wise. :good:

you won't be able to tell they are 5.5J as you will barly see wheel width from the front. I was all up for making them 5J  lucky Ive found some 5J barrels at good price from germany. traction will be a problem :hehe:

Yes the bumpers are giving a bit of a fight, yah, lol.

I was thinking in use KW's or something like KW's but a litle more cheaper, that allow to lower about 100mm's max.

So barrel's 5" dishes 0.5" or 1"??
And lip 0.5"???

I have a set of BBS RM 001, which i want to sell, to see if i can make the Compomotive's TS work allright in the car.

I was seeing an Irish project from user 4DMK1 which has 16" Image F40 replicas and he has 8"x16 all round.

I was aiming to 7.5/8" x 16 front and 8 or 8.5 at th rear with 195 40 16, to have some strech and poke only the disches,

Full of ideias, have to put them on practice.
