Clutch Bulkhead plate

Post by p in phcas »

All,

I have one of those eBay golf / Scirocco reinforcing plates - you know, the ones that don't fit right. Has anybody made up a template for the vacuum and speedo cables holes that need to be cut. If so, could you share...

cheers

Yes me lol its for an injection though, and does require some reshaping to match the contours of the car. Mine ws just installed as a precaution to help distribute the load.

good stuff..... mines an injection too and this is purely for preventative maintenance. I changed the clutch cable a couple of weeks ago, painted up the reinforcing plate and was left scratching my head as to how to get the damn thing to fit when I offered it up.

I cut mine and welded it to the bulkhead after repairing about 10 tears in the original bulkhead.

Its miles better, Its no wear near a concourse job but the bugger doesn't flex now!
