Brake pads driving me nuts

I bought some discs and pads from GSF last month.
I fitted them, made sure i had copper slip on the backs and other parts that could squeal.
I did ask for a decent set of pads but these have been squealing since fitment...i'm guessing you can't return pads, so what can i do about them?

how do your discs look?

coming from a bike/motorbike point of view, squealing is generally caused by the angle the pads touch the disc which causes vibrations on the last edge to touch the disc. so on a bike id say check the discs arent worn in a strange angle ( "V" shaped cross section etc) and/or (if possible on a car) the calliper is aligned properly and running in parallel to the disc.

i'd also check the pistons are returning properly (if one returns slower, it will angle the pad), but i wouldn't know how to suggest you do this with a car calliper.

Are you missing the metal clip which holds the pads at the front of the caliper?

try chamfering leading edges of the pad with a file just a little see if this cures it.
by the way are you sure its coming from the front?
dust in the drums on the rear are notorious for squealing.

if the above doesn't help, try going over the face of the pads with some coarse emery cloth. sometimes helps if they didn't bed in very well.

i'm also assuming that you properly degreased the discs before fitting?
