I was 18 at this point and didn't know very much so just ran it like this for a while although i did get a set of rz's off a mate.

After about a year the oil leak that was keeping the chasis nice and rust free was becoming kinda of an issue so i decided to do a bit of an engine swap. Cue the kr running weber 45's. Learnt most of how to do this stuff from edition but when it came down to spinning the spanners i have to give a big shout out to my mate Tom who did pretty much all the work for me. While the engine was out i got the bay sprayed.

When this work was done loads of other stuff was done as well just to get the car back into better health but i don't have those pictures at uni.
Got the carbs tuned by a guy called Tom Airey Really old school, has a rolling road in his shed but set the car up so nicely. Running about 155bhp at fly but old dyno so its a bit of a dyno lottery as to what the power actually is. All i care is that it runs really well.
Ran it like this for a bit more, was a bit of a sleeper!!!! Found a really nice set of Porsche fondmetals on eBay going cheap so snapped those up.

7's upfront 8's at the back. Didn't really fit to well as the offset is crazy once you include the adapters. Think i'm running ET -4 at the back now... Basically needed the arches rolling however this would have to wait a month or so... so the rz's went back on

Now although the paint doesn't look to tragic in the pictures, IT WAS. Roof had faded to white, no lacquer left on the bonnet etc so it was time for me to bite the bullet and get the full respray. This was done by Tim Ansell the work took a little while but the results are unbelievable. Quick list of the work he did:
Smoothed the gutter strips
Smoothed the rubbing strips
Deleted the side repeaters
Deleted the ariel
Semi smoothed the tailgate
Colour coded the body kit and bumpers
Rolled the arches
And then of course the full glass out respray.
Some pictures of how it looks now:

SO HAPPY WITH HOW IT LOOKS.
Unfortunately driving it home from uni the other day the peugot 205 dizzy cap i had on it started causing the car to misfire under load on the M40 so the AA had to be called.

Plans for the car now are just to get it running reliably and sort out the MOT advisory list. Brakes are a bit weak so i'm G60ing the front, putting mk4 rear callipers on the back and putting a new servo and master cylinder on.
Let me know what you think.
