Chrome Trim on Mk1

Post by G60MAT »

As most of you know I have '77 small indicator Mk1. Whilst the car is complete with (I believe) all the chrome, Were there extras as such?

Were options or can I fit the grille with the chrome surround or the headlight chrome rings as my car does not have them or are these specific to the later wrap around indicator cars.

Also (not OEM) but does anyone a contact/link for chrome wiper arms? (2 fronts & 1 rear).

It's hard to imagine what is holding your lights to the back frames as that is the job of the chrome rings :?:

When I got my Storm these rings were in black, whether a previous owner had done it I don't know, but they had been spray painted so maybe factory :?:

Any way I sourced some better chrome one's and replaced (the black never looked good as it kept chipping off)

The 'chrome border' had worn off my grill, I replaced it with some self adhesive chrome off tea bay (Viper Stripes) I think was the seller. Ball ache of a job :diablo: .You can order in length an width, I got wide enough and long enough to do both sections of the grill in one go. Stuck it on and went round it with a scalpel blade - if only it was that easy!

And how long it will stay on is another matter? but hey, you never know

Checked the car and I actually do have (filthy) chrome headlight rings!

However I don't have the chrome on the grille and I'm sure I've seen chrome on the tops of rear lights?

the early cars had no chrome trim on the rear lights, the facelift/wrap round indi cars were first to feature it.
