Uprated brake pad recommendations?

Post by Joe87 »

Need to replace my front brake pads and I'm thinking of getting some fairly decent ones, as someone told me it can make a big difference.

Any recommendations on which brand to go for? ATE and Pagid are meant to be pretty good aren't they? Would like to keep the standard calipers and vented discs I currently have.

Cheers chaps.

very very good, but can be hard to get hold of.

avoid ebc (particularly greenstuff) pads. they overheat way too easily, then the pad either glazes (reducing braking effort) or just crumbles.

with pagid fast road pads on my mk2, with no other changes other than setting it up right and braided hoses, it would out-stop most modern stuff ;)

Yeah I went for the standard ones - phoned up Pagid and they didn't seem to do the fast road ones or be able to tell me anything about them...

I'm sure these will be an improvement on the 0.5mm of brake pad I have currently.

You'll find that Mintex M1144 better than probably any pad in their price range.

What he said ^^ I run M1144s on the track car. Good pads. Work well from cold so they're fine on a road car.
