Removing front seats

Post by dozzum »

I know people call the Haynes book "the book of lies" but its telling me that the seat frames are held in by socket head bolts that are accessed from under the car. Now thats just a mahoosive untruth, unless I'm blind!!!

How do you remove them?

Cheers

If you want to take the seats off the runners, all you need to do is take the bolt out from next to the fore/aft adjuster under the front of the seat (you might need to release the spring as well). Take the plastic covers off the runners on the floor behind the seat. Slide the seat as far back as you can and it will lift out of the runners.

The bolts under the car would be to remove the runners from the body of the car.

I found Haynes easy to follow for seat removal.

umm, aren't the runners welded in?

but yes, there is a bolt thru the centre runner just under the front edge of the seat. 5mm allen (i think) and a 10mm spanner needed. then just slide it off the back

Cheers.

The bit about the bolts under the car was in the amendment section at the back, so maybe on later ones they were bolted???

Couldnt find anything else about the seats in there.

I will give it a try tomorrow.
