1.8t mk2 scirocco

Post by nye »

well this is a project i started about a year ago when my scirocco decided to have oil pressure issues :ire: it then sat there for a while after i stripped it out and removed engine etc

im planning on going to worthersee for the 2011 show so thought what better excuse to make that my deadline and take the scirocco around the nurburgring en-route

right about the car

i bought it a couple of years ago from a guy on here but unfortunately on my journey home the head gasket blew just as i came of the motorway, this ended up being down to the fan not working i later found out.

its a basic tornado red mk2 gt2 with no mods just a nice clean example, i have looked all over the car and cant find any rust which is good sign :hehe:

the engine ive got for it was removed from my mk4 golf due to being run low on oil (car sold to me as only needing an oil pump!! :diablo: ) its a 1.8t agu but when i bought the new engine for the golf i bought it as a conversion so i got the gearbox/wiring/ecu

luckily for me a guy i knew crashed his mk4 1.8t around a few months later, so after a short conversation with him i told him what i wanted (all wiring/gear shifter/dash) and he said £700!!! then a couple months later he rang me saying he needed some wheels and that i could help my self to whatever i can remove from the shell in return for some wheels, so i took him my 15in mk4 alloys and spent a full day removing all wiring loom and few more parts.

i basically didnt do anything with the car or parts for a few months and just left them to clog up the garage.

i have now started working on the car a bit the last few weeks and as soon as get a camera sorted i will upload a few pics,
so far i have made temp engine mounts, wired in few bits but other than that its just been a case of removing things ready to clean
