Back Brakes And Rear Beam

Post by JDUB »

MK2 1.8S - I need to replace the Rear brake back plates (standard drum brakes), does anyone know, are these the same as fitted to a MK1 Golf ?
I'm also going to refurbish the rear beam and, same question, is the beam exactly the same as a MK1 Golf i.e interchangeable ?
It seems much easier to get the parts if it is.
Sorry if this info is already here somewhere but I couldn't find it ? J

Thanks for the replys, that's a result then. I'm going to need new ARB clamps, There are stainless ones from Quiffs or homemade (I've read somewhere on this forum), any other options ? Any other fitting tips apart from remove the rear beam and use superhuman effort and a large vice ?

If you know anyone that's well versed in the dark arts buy them a pint and ask for a favour.

People have made home brew clamps and they seem cool, me and a few other people have used Monsiuer Quiff's and they're coolio.
