Has anyone got a photo of a mk1 with a stock ABF fitted please.
Searched through edition 38 and on here to no avail :?

I think the inlet manifold height might be the reason there are not many. A KR in a mk1 is virtually hitting the bonnet and I think the extra 15mm on an ABF would mean removing some of the cross-bracing at the very least. Also, it makes the exhaust manifold a bit more complicated due to the extra height.

The US never had the ABF so a lot of people make their own with a KR/PL/9A head onto an ABA tall block. However, I've just searched Vortex and haven't found one on a mk1 with the standard inlet manifold - only ITBs :diablo:

i had thought there could be issue's with the height. But as I've provisionly brought a complete up n running mk3 valver as a doner car i might have to find out the hard was. lol
But one this note i've got a A.c.e mocked up in there at the moment and the inlet and bonnet seem to clear.
A.C.E short block ? can never remember what's what tbh :stupid:

Yep, ACE is just a later version of the Audi (6A?) short block.
