Blower Motor Change the Easy Way!

Had to change the blower motor again really wasn't looking forward to it as it was a real b@ll ache the last time!

Was thinking about it and remembered that someone on here had said you can split the casing and it comes out/goes in easy.

Decided to give this a go and we took the old one out this way, casing to the passengers side motor to the drivers side.

Came out nice and easy, there a bit in the scuttle that you can ease the shaft out at.

The only problem was that some of the plastic clips had broken, then my mate Jamie had a flash of inspiration he used a heat gun to soften the plastic and there were no breakages on the clips.

Motor in through the drivers side, casing the passengers side, put back together, placed rubber seal in position screwed down, sorted!

No more dread of changing the blower motor.

Check that the carbons on the motor a good before putting in. (Cheers to Mark H for an excellent motor with lots of carbon, a star yet again)

I have a motor from Veedubmachine on it's way to me and was dreading fighting with this job.

I had done loads of searches on here and other forums. Had read about splitting the casing on the Mk1 Golf Owners forum. The Scirocco (mk2) must have more room in the scuttle than the Mk1 Golf because I believe they have to remove the wiper motor to get a bit more room.

Hope the secondary market motor is up to the job. I've bought a few bits off Veedubmachine before, the guy is a really friendly and helpful He was even saying how he was selling a lot of heater matrix's and I just said that I didn't want to know touch wood and all that (not a job I want to be doing this time of year ).
