wiper stalks/ arms

Post by james butler »

my wiper arms are loose on the spindles, ive tried to tighten them and pack them with washers but the splines on the arms have all but gone, they got damaged last winter in the ice, they got frozen to the windscreen and when i atarted the car the wipers were left on in the car from using it earlier. one wiper worked but the other stayed exactly where it was, untill the wiper changed direction and it ended up parked on the bonnet. :shocking: any one got any good ideas or should i bite the bullet and get some new ones?
cheers
james

Buy new ones if you can get them or else will just happen again if you try and bodge. Obsolete from the dealers! Maybe VW Classic parts?
Be aware there are 2 sizes, 10mm and 13mm, 10mm were earlier cars.

All previous 89 are obsolete. :crying:

From 89 onwards the part number is 534 955 407B but no longer at the dealer. :ire:

Classicparts may have them.
