Fuel pump fail?
I'm just starting to sort out my Rocco. I parked it up about a year once the clutch failed.
I tried to start it today. Being a carb I knew getting the fuel through was gonna the first issue, however after a good 30 minutes of winding the engine I still had an empty fuel filter. I first thought maybe a blocked fuel line, but after a quick suck on the fuel line petrol came out.
I took it at this point that it was the fuel pump. Looking back I should have checked for pressure coming out of the pump but it started raining.
I have ordered a new pump. Do you guys think I'm probably correct in thinking its the pump?

Re: Fuel pump fail?
Replaced the fuel pump, sucking it through just nicely now................ although now I have a fuel leak
, I think its coming from the Accelerator pump diaphragm on my Pierburg. Is it likely to be just the gasket? Anyone know where I can get replacement parts for my pierburg? Dont wanna give up with it straight away for a weber?
I was confident that I replaced the fuel pump with the correct one, it was listed as being for my car and it looked identical and was a direct replacement.
Thanks in advance for any info I get

I've got 2 old pierburgs in the garage I can whip one off if you can't get one new. A pic of the item you need would help.

Re: Fuel pump fail?
Its the plunger bit on the left I need, my one is perished and fuel leaks through it.
Its located on the front left handside of the Pierburg.

If you do have a good one I would be grateful, let me know what you want for it.

If you're wanting to persist with the Pierburg then check this out as a service kit..

Also the infamous Rubjonny guide..

These are good carbs if they work it's just that the Webers are far simpler with their manual choke.

Re: Fuel pump fail?
I'm gonna try the replacement diaphram, that will determine my plan of action on the carb. I am watching some webers on ebay. Thanks for the help chaps.
