The clock in my 86' GTX are horricially noisy.
Is there any other models that i can get clocks from that will 'plug and play'? or anything i can do to use some different clocks!? I take it it would hae to be from another CE1 loomed car. Early 16v Mk2 golf? etc..
Ta,
Henry

Noisy how? From memory, 8 or 16v golf should work fine.Roxylife wrote:The clock in my 86' GTX are horricially noisy.

Yep, have to have the two multi-connectors. I'm pretty sure they're the same size and shape but I do remember having to swap components over with one particular set as the housing was the wrong size - but that could have been a cabby. Sorry can't be more help - it was a long time ago.Roxylife wrote: As long as they are CE1 Mk2 clocks though right!? - No modification required??? I was thinking about some early Mk2 golf 16v clocks??

Re: 86' GTX clocks
My clocks get progressively noisier the colder it gets. I'm pretty sure on mine it's just the speedo cable that is needing a bit of lubrication,
just a matter of removing clocks/ unplugging and spraying grease down the cable. Must get round to doing this.
Just an idea mind, you've probably come across this before.
