Scuttle Cover

Post by COVDUBS »

Hi all,
The black plastic scuttle cover that covers the wiper motor and heater etc on my rocco is missing. Has anyone made a replacement, if so what did you use?

Very hard to find I'm afraid - they're no longer made, and because they get so brittle, they do tend to break. As a result, not many second hand ones about either.

Not entirely sure what you could use to replace it - ideally you'd want to keep the 'window' that allows you to read the VIN code. You could probably fabricate something out of metal... Not sure how you'd attach it though.

Always worth posting up a request :beg: in the Parts Wanted section.

You never know someone might have a decent one knocking around if only off a car they're breaking.

Thanks for the offer, bit far to come tho, I'm in the midlands. Off to the National restoration show on Sunday so might be lucky in the auto jumble!

My scuttle to, is on it's way out and is letting in water into the car through the heater motor. Just wondering if the mk 2 golf and jetta had scuttle covers and if so would they fit a mk2 scirocco as there a lot more mk2's golf's lying around in scrap-yards than sciroccos.
