Just noticed a load of blistered paint and rust flakes at the bottom of the offside wing (just outboard of the jacking point), and a gentle poke revealed a small hole.
I'm wondering if this is going to be a problem, the MOT is up this week. Even if it's not structural ie the bottom of the A post isn't affected, technically is it within 30cm of a structural member?
There was no sign of it at last year's MOT, the tester even commented on how structurally sound the car was, notwithstanding its cosmetic tattiness.

If it's just on the front wing panel, you should be fine. Sharp edges would be your only possible fail.

Re: MOT due and just noticed a load of flaking metal...
if it's on the front wing, it will be a pass (or possibly advise, depending on the tester) so long as there aren't any sharp edges. if there are, a bit of tape over it is all that's needed to get thru the test.
if it is on the sill or the bottom of the inner wing then it is definitely a fail, as both of these are structural.

How close to the outer wing is the inner wing at the bottom?

Took it in this morning, having had no time to prepare it at all, and it passed! What a relief.
