Check this out though it is not very clear (this is for an 87).
From memory there are various clips etc holding the carpet in place.
Sometimes the carpet rips and you just have to improvise.

#5 - plastic clips holding the side and rear and under the front of the seats, #4 - metal clips in the footwells.

Both push over the pegs,

Another attempt to get it right, this time for the door sill clips.

Is it items 2 & 4 you are looking for as I may have some lying around if they are not available from the dealers.

Wagenstad is just for reference, just make a note of the part number and take it to your dealer and get them to check if in stock or order your some.

As Ian say's it is just for reference.
If you go through this link and click on the year of your car then you are 99.9 certain of getting the right info.

http://www.wagenstad.com/index.php?model=sci

I was using 1987 and your car may not be an 87 model so there may be slight differences.
It also gives part numbers for engines, trim, axles, wheels and a million other bits.
I also found it handy when re-assembling parts or how to take parts apart.
The home page gives you a complete list of all VW cars covered.
