What is the best "back to black" for plastics ?

Post by ghost123uk »

I am sure this will have been asked before, but when I tried a search for a term I thought might find it = "Back to black" I got = "The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: back black to"

So I will ask, what do "we" reckon is the best stuff to spray on your black plastic bits to make em look good.

So far I have used "GT85" silicone spray (because I had some in the shed !) and it does a reasonable job.

Meguiars Gold Trim detailer for me. Works beautifully on the vinyl, but unfortunately doesn't last a particularly long time... Doesn't take long to apply though, so it does the job.

For bumpers, wipe them down with white spirit then apply Autoglym Bumpercare, it looks like green snot but does a cracking job.

I highly rate "forever black" for the bumpers. Its a permanent black dye. I got it via egay, about £12 posted?

Really made my sun dyed bumpers look brandnew, doesnt work so well on the sponge spoiler tho!

Autoglym bumper care, by far the best out there, apply with a small piece of sponge.

Autoglym bumper care gets another vote from me. Mainly because it looks 'clean' not 'BLACK!!'. Water does that 'drops on gortex' look which is nice, but as said above, doesnt last too long. Easy to apply though and easily wiped off paint so I never bother masking.
