are bumpers...

...interchangeable?

ie I just removed the tow bar from my 79 gls and then realised the irons are part of the bar which is bolted to the steel insert in the bumpers. I have a spare front bumper - can anyone tell me if the plastics will swap? I'd to avoid trying it as i'm a tad scared of breaking the plastic clips etc...or just call me lazy

any help would be appreciated as i have no rear bumper now..........

Early mk1 and mk2 brackets are both different to late mk1 brackets, could always cut the tow ball off the towbar and use it until you get some proper brackets, not exactly a huge market for mk1 rocco towbars after all....
