Are you sure it is a "water pressure gauge" not an oil temperature gauge? The 3 gauges from audi sports are usually oil pressure, oil temperature and voltage, and you need the Audi oil pressure sensor which is marked with the same range as the gauge and an oil temperature sensor. You don't actually need a tee piece if you have the original audi oil pressure sensor with 2 spades on the top, just take out the oil pressure switch on the right side of the head and put the audi oil pressure sensor in its place, making sure you use a new sealing washer. Connect the original pressure switch wire to the sensor and run a new cable from the gauge to the new audi sensor and connect to the terminal marked "G" on the sensor.
For the oil temperature sensor, just unscrew the blanking plug in the centre of the top of the oil filter housing, (needs an allen key), and screw the Audi oil temperature sensor in there, again with a new washer. Sometimes there is a green and black cable with a spade on it folded back on the wiring loom just above the filter which can be used for the oil temp sensor if you can trace it back to the dash board but I would just run a new cable from the sensor back to the new gauge. Don't forget, the sensor cables go on the terminals marked "G" on the gauges and the "G" terminal on the oil pressure sensor.
Voltage can be connected to the switched live going to the cig lighter and the gauge lamp cables to the light feed to the ashtray so the lights can dim when you turn the wheel on the light switch.
Hope this helps matey.
Rob

You don't need any 'T' pieces to run the VDO oil pressure gauge. Fitted one on my ABF and on a friends DX engine without having to use one!

iirc there isn't enough water temp senders on the engine to run both the built in dash gauge and the extra VDO gauge. You may want to run a 'T' piece on one of the water senders so you'll be able add an extra temp sender.

If you have this exact sender then it will NOT fit in place of the low oil pressure switch on the VW cylinder head without an ADAPTER - not a T-piece, as the thread size and pitch is wrong.

VW threads are 10M x 1, so you will need an adapter with a male 10M x 1 thread to screw into the head with a female 1/8 NPT thread the other end to take that particular sender.

However, if you have an original AUDI two pole sender, then you should not need an adapter as it should screw straight into the cylinder head.

G, this sender from ebay will NOT work with the Audi gauges. It is a 0 - 7 bar sender and the Audi gauge is 0 - 5 bar, the two need to match. As Pete says, you need the Audi 0 -5 bar, 2 pole sender which has a M10 x 1mm male thread and that will screw straight into the head without any adapter or tee piece and your original oil pressure sender will not be required as the second pole on the sender (marked WK) does the same job. The small Oil temp sender you have got looks correct and as I said before just screws into the top of the oil filter where the allen bolt sits. Check the range stamped on the side of the this sender as well as this also needs to match the gauge range i.e. 60 - 170 degrees C.
