Replacing suspension??

After the hard work involved in replacing a gator on the drive shaft of my Scirocco, I couldn’t help noticing that the shockers on the car look like they can be replaced very easily.
To me it looks like they’re mounted to the car at the top, through into the engine bay, using 3 nuts each? And then the bottom part was just two bolts holding it to the wheel assembly.
Am I right in saying this really isn’t a hard job to replace them??

if you dont have any really badly corroded bolts, its a really easy job. for fitting coilovers its just as you said, 3 bolts a side on the front and 2 on the back. When using standard replacement parts you'll also need a spring compressor to get the new part in. the rears took me a good 5 hours to get off, thats just because i had a hell of a job getting the bottom bolts off. ended up using a chisel on one side and an angle grinder of the other.

just bear in mind that on the front, those 2 bolts at the bottom are for setting the camber too, so either psyche up for setting it up yourself afterwards, or check there's a local place that'll set it for you. (bear in mind some garages don't have a camber gauge, even if they do have tracking.)

i made the mistake of forgetting that... realised the next day that i was running alot of negative camber and the drivers side tyre was rubbing on the spring.

Could anyone recommend a set i could buy from the internet, that would be a good replacement for the originals that require no mods?

what are you after? do you want to lower your car / get a sportier (more harsh) ride or do you want to keep a fair amount of comfort? and fyi, all the suspension gubbins off of mk1 golfs fit the 'rocco so that opens up the market a bit.

There's no problem getting standard aftermarket stuff. GSF's usually flagged up as a suitable supplier. They do the GTX spec that's "standard" but 20 or 25mm lower too if that's what you're after.
