Rocker Cover.....

Post by jxp »

Well took the rocker cover off tonight as got a nice chrome replacement (cheers Tony). It was in a right state, see pic. And the studs wouldn't budge so going to order one of these to hopefully do the job.

Once fitted think its time for an engine flush to get rid of any remaining gunk. The old gasket was well shot as well, came off in 4 bits....

Hope to get this all done, and a new radiator fitted and a few bits n bobs over the weekend so I can tax on Sunday and get back on the road.....at last...

Looking forward to driving the rocco again and getting to a few shows.

Might be a silly question but have you tried putting two nuts on the studs and tightening them into one another, then undoing the bottom one? Usually works with a bit of perseverance :training: on even the tough ones. I used the technique to get the rocker studs out of my head, worked fine :good:

This is the method I used John, gave it plenty of the WD40 before hand, I didn't have any problems.

We tried that last night but think the nuts i had were poor quality as the tread on them went........going to put plenty of WD on and leave it a while then try again over the weekend
