Brake Pipes - Master Cylinder to Front Caliper

Can anyone confirm whether genuine brake pipes available from VW are supplied already pre-shaped to fit?

In particular, I'm thinking of the lengths between the front brake caliper hoses to the master cylinder unit. I think these are part numbers 191 611 996 C & 191 611 996 D

I just bought some new VW brake pipe for something at work, they come on 5 metre rolls and need to be shaped, and yes you can only buy 5 metre lengths! They were £25 per 5m but I did ask (and got!) a discount.

Cheers, but looking at ETKA, there appears to be the 5m roll you bought (part no. 111 611 998) but also there are what look to be some pre-shaped pieces listed. Ideally, I need the lengths already crimped as it's easier to fit and looks neater.

That what I thought but getting the rolls was fine as it was for a task for military vehicle mechanics to identify a knackered brake pipe and cut, shape and flare and replacement whilst the car was knee deep in shite!

You can get the lengths ready made up, but they come in straight lengths and you will have to shape them yourself. Hopefully they will be the correct length. A while back, I bought the ones from the rear wheel cylinder to the flexi hose over the rear beam and they were too long !

just buy yourself a flare tool, some flare buts and a roll or copper or cunifer pipe - it's easy. but tbh if you can't cope with flaring the ends and routing the pipe, you really shouldn't be working on brakes.

No, I wouldn't be doing the job myself but I'd like the pipe to be neat and be identical to the original that's fitted.

After having a look underneath my car the other day, I noticed that there was just a couple of milimetres of surface rust right of the end of the pipe at the hose end. The rest of the pipe is original and mint - a copper version wouldn't do as it wouldn't look the same as the original. Looking at those lengths, the one serving the offside is quite long with a few bends on it. I just thought that buying it pre-shaped off the shelf would look better and be an easier fit (and less labour time!).
