Re: kill switches
when i took mine out in to a town i used to remove the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump fuse...
Lets face it how my scumbags would have either one in there pocket !

Re: kill switches
hmm nice one, very simple as well. being in swansea there is a lot of car crime. unfortunately i was a victim of it last year so i want to do as much as i can to prevent it again :(
Re: kill switches
The last owner of my spares car had one under the gearstick gaitor, you just had to know where it was and feel for it.
Not going to say where my is because it's on the same place in all my cars.
I normally have carb'd cars, so no electric fuel pump, so I just turn off the LT circuit.

Re: kill switches
i had a citroen bx briefly. a previous owner had put a kill switch on the headlights. dash still lit up though, and you wouldn't notice they're not on driving round town. it got me pulled over quite a few times
Re: kill switches
i had an idea, of rewiring a live in the key switch to the reversing light, that way you would need to start the car in reverse, and in theory you should be able to drive normally afterwards. does anybody have the car schematics on their computer?

Re: kill switches
A hidden key isolator switch is a good one, something like having to put the car in reverse and having your foot on the brake pedal in order to start would be nifty just a bit of a headache
Re: kill switches
Easy enough if you make a latching circuit with a relay. Stick with the LT circuit as it's all low drain and easy to work with, the cranking circuits high drain so easier to start setting fire to things.

Re: kill switches
When I had mini's, I used to use the electric aerial output as a switched live to operate a relay.
Take the face off the stereo, and the car won't start.

Re: kill switches
it was a mini of mine that got nicked last year :(
im not bothered about it being tricky to install, just as long as its not a passive pain in the neck to get it started everytime.
