well im hoping to carry out pretty much all of it myself including the wiring, ill be getting the downpipe made up for me and thats probly it hopefully, im doing it for the experience and something to fill the little spare time i have lol. i know where your coming from with regards to the 16v and not worth it with the 150bhp engine but the way im thinking is that the agu has alot more potential than the 16v as ild struggle to get over 200 with the 16v if i ever wanted to up the power compared to the agu which i can save for the bigger turbo option and look at around 300bhp if you get me. i bought my engine as a full conversion for a mk1 golf and only used the engine in the golf so have all the other parts so main cost will probly be wiring loom( conversion one someone kindly cut before the multiplug) and clutch and flywheel as going to fit vr6 clutch instead. thanks for your help

I had an AGU 1.8t (150 bhp unit) engine from a Mk4 Golf in my Mk2 Golf Gti, i used the Mk4 Golf gearbox (5 speed), Passat hydraulic pedal box and Emerald M3D ECU. When it was completed i took the car to Emerald for its first mapping on the rollers and it produced 205.1 bhp and 204.9 lb/ft torque at the flywheel. Now i was really impressed with this and thought the car was more than powerful enough and useable as a daily driver as it was very reliable. It had the standard KO3 turbo which was good enough for me as there was hardly any turbo lag at all.

Basically, i would def recommend this conversion and i gaurantee you wont regret it! Plus after its done, you can always build on it later on. Just dont forget to upgrade your brakes!

Anyone else check the stats for the new 1.8t rocco, near 200bhp and the 0-60 time is only about 0.5 sec quicker than a k-jet!!!
Since I heard that I've been busting to get one at a set of lights to experiment with this
