Brake pipe and a 22mm Master cylinder...

Post by Peaceman »

Evenin'!

To anyone who has ever upgraded to a 22mm master cylinder with the pipes and proportioning valves leaving the MC in a kind of 'V' shape, did you have to extend/fit longer brake pipe or is there enough to bend into position?

cheers!

AS far as I'm aware it's a straight forward swap. The MC itself is not THAT much bigger than the existing one.

No its not much bigger, the way the pipes and valves are mounted are different...

On my Scala the valves are pointing downwards underneath the master cylinder, but on the 22mm one the ports come out diagonally upwards so it would take some bending and maybe lengthening of the original brake lines to fit

Sorry if I'm not explaining myself very clearly, I'm pretty tired :lazy: :wakey:

I take it you can't just mount it upside down then with a remote reservoir?

Sounds like the easiest option :D

I was able to re shape my existing brake lines on my gt2 but didn't have the proportioning valves off the bottom of the original mc. I think you may struggle to make the lines reach in your case.
