coolant pipe query

Post by ash-lough »

Finally got round to getting one made up and after being unsure at the beginning I now quite like it...

Car is coming along, next I shall be getting the wing sprayed and either a set of Borbet A's of ATS Cups.

Oh and here is a pic of my mums crazy new car:

Finally would anyone be able to tell me what part number of the following hose? It is the one with the rusty clip above the bottom rad hose. It split on my way back to Loughborough and I want to get a part ordered today so I get it in time for the weekend.

Cheers,

Ash

Cheers

Assuming you mean the pipe that connects the water pump to the metal pipe and the oil cooler, then 068121058C.
Be prepared to spend about £40 odd quid at the dealers.

Places in the USA sell them for $36

Or this one might fit, but I suggest you ring them first to check!

Thanks, I'll check it out. That is more than I was hoping, could've been worse though!

I had to buy a new pipe from the dealers, it was £51 including VAT! I hope that one that Pete has suggested fits, good to know for the future!

Nice exhaust Ash.

Cheers Ian. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow so fingers crossed!

I haven't been able to have a good look with it always being dark, but is it a fairly easy part to swap?

Yes reasonably easy to fit once you drained the coolant, I would renew the clamps as well andput a bit of washing uo liquid inside the pipe to help it slide on!

P.S. Nice to see a proper VW oil filter, well done that man.
