Electric Window Mk 2 1990 GTI Scirocco Weber

Post by mattsrocco »

Passenger Electric Window has finally given up after being choosy about how it would work. The window is fully open and its pixxing down! The drivers window is working.......

I can't work out if the window can be closed manually, it does'nt look like there's method built in. The whole mechanism is locked solid and i cannot lift the window by hand.

Can anybody clear up the location of the Thermal Fuse and Window Relay for me, i suppose i should try those first?

If that does'nt cure it how do i replace the motor and winding gear ? or is there some alternative?

Any clues please? :ire:

Check the wires coming from the passenger switch on the drivers side as well as on the passenger door.

I think if you have jump leads or something similar) you can directly power the motor??

failing that cover it with a plastic bin bag wedge it in the door and tape it down

i would think it's unlikely to be a fuse etc if one side is working

I think the fuse and relay must be OK too! So I'll see if I can get the motor working. Wish me luck and Thanks Danny!!
