ABF Alternator brackets

Post by Peaceman »

Not too sure if this is the right place for this so let me know or just move it :dunno:

I'm going to put an ABF in my Scala, at the moment I have left on the ABF alternetor and pulleys etc, but will these clear the chassis? I'm guessing I can just use all the DX stuff if need be but want to know if I can get away with leaving the ABF stuff on as the alternator pumps out more amps so I'd prefer to keep it all on there.

Cool, thanks!

What set up did you go for? Digi/k-jet etc? If you have any tips on anything that could catch me out I'd appreciate it cheers!

using digi, i bought a doner car and used everything i could if ya going for the o2a box converting to a hydrolic clutch was a bit of a pig but if ya confident with a welder/grinder you will be ok. i think you can buy conversion downpipes but they aint cheap and i dont know how well they fit, a mate of mine made me a custom one so again be fine if ya can weld.
cant really think of much else that was an major issue (plenty of annoying little things ha).
good luck, any questions give me a shout and ill do my best!

Sounds like a good idea with the doner car, would've doen the same if I'd had space.

I'm going down the K-jet, 020 rod change route, keeping it inline with the original I found some 16v rocco manifolds and downpipe so i should be good there, even if I'll lose a little on performance I kinda like the simplicity!

ah cool man sounds like ya pretty sorted then! got a feeling you might have an issue with the 16v downpipe as the abf is a taller but not 100% might be worth lookin into it, good luck its worth it!

Yeah I might make up a spacer between the manifold and downpipe. I hear its only 15mm difference so should be ok. On that note did you keep the alloy sump? I've got a lower strut brace and I'm thinking there may be an issue there, I kinda prefer the steel one anyway but not sure if the oil pick up is the same?
