Headlight bulbs and other bulbs

Post by bmseven »

OK with these dark mornings and nights I need to change the old yellow bulbs from the Golf (H1's) along with the Scirocco's (H4's)

Looking on EGay bulb prices seem to vary greatly from pennies to £'s

So my question is if anyone has any experience of these? is it you get what you pay for or will a bulb from Osram perform better than one from Hong Kong in a 25 year old headlight ??

Think I will also change the dash ones for LED's while I am at it :training:

yes, better bulbs are worth the money, but only up to a point.

the cheapo bulbs we stock in work (made by the well known eurolec) seem to last only a few weeks in my truck, but fit a bosch one and it won't need doing again for years.

90p for a cheapy that will last a month if you're lucky vs a fiver for a bosch that will probably now outlast the truck. and they wonder why they're loosing money :hehe:

you're probably better off going to your local parts place (gsf etc) and buying them over the counter. you don't have to wait for delivery, the post office can't squish them and it's easy to take them back if there is a problem
