GTi Headlight Spares

Post by Funky Diver »

OK, so I know it's a mix of electrical and body trim, so I put it in here due to the nature of my enquiries to date.

Certain spares for these lights are available, including the lights themselves from various VAG models, so I thought I'd collate all the info into one thread in case anyone is in the same situation in the future.

So without further claptrap from me, here's all the details you need.

The lights themselves. Bear in mind that I had the frames on mine powder coated black. They were silver when I originally got them.

(Notice the black trim across the bottom is broken?)

Exploded Diagram of the parts

Part Numbers on a single document - unfortunately this doesn't include the Black Trim Pieces, but does include the rest of the light fittings

So we're no further forward replacing those black trims, except we ARE!!!

They are currently available off the shelf from Volkswagen Classic Parts (incidentally they're based in Wolfsburg)

The part numbers you need are 533 853 655 A and 533 853 656 A

If you want to do this conversion on your Scirocco, the "easiest" way to do it is by buying a set of GTi lights, but beware. They were extensively fitted in the US, so make sure you get RHD beam versions, else you're on with a faff on to get the beam corrected.

Any more info from anyone regarding part numbers for Audi versions, please do post 'em up and I'll add them into this post.

You found the part numbers I posted on the 'other thread', useful then.

Glad I've helped.

Yeah, I was torn between black and silver, but thought black might be too much as I was running a red car, wanted to have some shinny!!!

If anyone is interested, I will most likely be ordering a set of the black strips that go under the lamps from VW classic parts (as suggested by funky's great post).

If anyone wants to order a set with me to save on shipping from Germany it will come to around 20Euro (I will refund anything over the cost once its been shipped to you).

Spoken to Sean GTXTRA and this is approved.

PM me / reply if interested
