1977 Scirocco GLS Re-Build

Some of you may recognise this as the TUK Customs Scirocco, it was featured in PVW April of this year.

Rob Burgess who built the car emigrated to Australia over 6 months ago and had to let this go.

I now have the car in my possession and want to take the car back to its 'roots'

WOW, enjoyed reading about this in the mag, funky colour scheme going on there before hand!

Shame that the air and wheels have gone though as they were what made the car special, don't see enough scene queen sciroccos (and I mean that in a positive way, love 'em)... of course, I still wouldn't say no without all the bits! Excellent car.
Hope she gets some new shoes soon - keep us up to date please!

Yeah the other Golfs, the Mars Red mk1 is getting a full hit. Just fitted 2 x rear arches and a real panel, nearly ready for paint.

Got about 5 mk2 Golfs in the unit, one is getting a engine transplant that isnt from the VAG range, but thats a while off being built. Others are just on going projects most will be sold for a proffit etc.

Ive taken the carpets out of the Scirocco and have some pics which ill load tomos, im not happy to what I found!

With regards to wheels, I have two sets to use not sure which to go for, but will also post the pics tomos.

Thats tape holding the carpet down.

As said I removed the carpet as Im removing the air ride, but I also plan to run it with no carpets and have the floor shine better than the extreior. I want to give it the 'race car' look.

On removing the carpet I found that on the NSF the floor has started going yellow, and have also found various holes where water has come through the floor and has stained the floor.

Looks as if the roll cage has been fitted too far forward then moved back slightly, but they didn't weld the old holes up.

Whislt im sorting the floor problems out I will be re-routing the accelerator cable, as you can tell from the pic it doesnt look too suited, and you can't get good feedback when pressing the pedal:



Also going to be re-locating the fusebox into the dash, so it looks a lot cleaner:
