Just bought a gtII, i used to own a gt a while ago. whats the difference between the two if any?

Main differences are the possibility of different engine size (GT came in 1.6 or 1.8 varients, GTII just 1.8) and trim level

It's just cosmetic and trim differences, compared to any other 1.8 carb Scirocco (i.e. GTS, '89 GT, early Scala). Mechanically there's no real difference.
