use washing powder, seriously! loads cheaper and works just as well.

is the rad getting hot? is the heater blowing hot air?

Yea, the rad and heater are both working, but it just seems to be running very hot. What sort of temp does the engine normally run at?

Pulled over at a mates house on route home the other day, opened the bonnet to check and could hear the coolant boiling. Although this could have been related to me not putting in the correct mix of anti-freeze to water.

My dad has a pot of rad cleaner he's had for ages.. so technically this one works out free ;)

i'm still going to put my money on a sticky thermostat or a failed waterpump. chuck a new stat in and check the condition of the pump impeller. if there is any damage, put a new one in.

Got a new stats to pop in, hopefully its just that! Is the water pump easy to remove/check? I take its just held on by a few bolts?

Was going to do it today, but hellfrauds wanted to charge me £17 or something stupid for 5 litres of ready mixed coolant. Thieves.
