Hissing Fuel Filler

Post by scirocogtx »

Am curious to know if when I remove my fuel filler cap should I hear a hissing noise or not? I understand it is a pressurised system but what is 'normal'?

One of my Scirocc's hisses the other doesnt..both are 1.8i...both run fine

Could be just a blocked breather pipe

Mine hisses when the weather is warm. Maybe even a snake! Be careful.
Just the heat really.

May just be that on the one that hisses, the lift pump in the tank is a bit noisy.
