You can borrow it if you want when you come up later in the month matey, i reckon its been a while since you had a good ride.

Anyway, back on topic, got the passenger seat reassembled and cleaned...

Drivers seats gonna take a bit more work, because the seat frame needs painting and the foam bolsters need repairing/replacing. :good:

Finally an update !!! Welded up this hole in the o/s rear wheel well.

Image

Seam sealered it and a skim of filler on the inside, and a few coats of spray underseal on the outside. Its jumping the gun a bit, but i fitted the refurbed rear leather door cards and rear seat as they were taking up space in my garage at home, plus i was dying to see what they looked like !!

Image

Image

Also changed the heater matrix as it was leaking. Its a damn site easier to change a matrix on a Mk1 than on a MK2 !!!

More soon, hopefully. :yup:

Had a couple of hours spare this morning so decided to remove some of the rats nest of wiring behind the dash that wasnt doing anything.
Image

Then refitted the drivers side under dash trim and shelf ( not a briliiant pic im afraid  )

Image

Then fitted the passenger seat after giving the carpet a quick hoover. Also replaced the gear stick gaitor with a leather one and fitted the golf ball type gear knob.

Image

Image

The drivers seat is still in bits in my garage at the moment, so i need to get that sorted soon. Then i gave the passenger side wing a good painting with rust eater. I will also give it a coat of zinc primer before, it gets undersealed and refitted.
Image

Not a huge leap forward, but stuff that needed doing all the same. :good:

A spare couple of hours this morning sees the front door cards refitted. First off i made some new plastic door membranes for each side ( cheers Danny for the thick plastic sheet !!)

Image

Then fitted a spare pair of JBL speakers in the door pockets and reftted both door cards.

Image

Image

Also gave the passenger side front wing a coat of zinc primer, then when it had dried, a good spray of underseal.

Image

Plenty more work to be done, but its very slowly taking shape.

A small update, but an update non the less, repairing the front spoiler. It took me ages to find the piece that had broken off as i had put it somewhere "safe", only trouble being i couldnt remember where that safe place was ! Anyway, its back together now and fibreglassed into place.

After seeing the very tasty gold mk1 at the Midlands meet last week, i thought it was about time i did something with mine, so i rebuilt the drivers seat that i had stripped down months ago. The original metal seat base frame was knackered, it had obviously been left standing in mud or water and the sliders had corroded and siezed up solid with rust, i got them red hot with a gas torch, but they just wouldnt budge. So i stripped down a spare mk2 drivers seat and robbed the base from that. I repaired the usual wear to the lower foam bolster.
Image
Then started to build it back up.
Image
I refitted the back section and then gave the whole seat a clean with leather cleaner and a couple of coats of black coloured leather conditioner. Im really pleased with the result.
Image
Next up was to give the car a hoover out, grease the slides on the floor and fit the seat.
Image
I found some parcel shelf clips, so fitted them and sorted out a few other bits of trim. I hope to get the n/s inner wing finished next week ( it needs a small plate welding in) so i can refit the wing and front lights. But it depends how i'm fixed for time as the GTS (DARE) needs a service, front pads and cambelt change next week too.

I have to say I love these MarkH threads. What gets me is the speed with which things seem to get done.
I had a half hour spare so I refurbed the entire interior and fitted a flux capacitor under the passenger seat'
:chortle:
