Oil Leak from filter area.

Post by jwdg298 »

Hi all,

....And so, onto the next problem. fired up the rocco today and then noticed a pool of oil appearing on the floor :crying:
As far as I can see it appears to be coming from the electrical connector that bolts onto the top of the oil filter housing 'cos with the rubber boot off you can see it pooling around the connector. Not had a problem like this before and does seem strange.

Would anyone happen to have a part number as the etka page doesn't seem to show a connector just a sealing plug.

This must be fate as I bought a new oil filter today.....

I think its the Oil pressure switch, I had to replace mine last year, you can still get them from VW, cant remember if it comes with a new sealing washer, if not get one as well.

I just went into VW told the chap the colour the switch and he found one, Also can't remember how much it was.

Sorry cant be much more help....
